BELLA NOTTE:
Stories for Adults from the Italian Tradition
A "beautiful night" of Italian tales and personal recollections from a second-generation Italian.  Meet a plucky Palermo princess, a Sardinian seer, some distinctive Italian fairy tale folk, and more.  You don't have to be Italian to enjoy the musical rhythms and joyous logic of all that is Italian.

I developed this show in 2001, partly as a reminder that the Italian heritage is more than just The Sopranos.  Since then it has seasoned and grown richer, like a good spaghetti sauce simmered for a long time.

ITALIAN CHRISTMAS LEGENDS
For Children, Adults and Families to Celebrate the Season!
Hear the legend of La Befana, learn why Italian children get to celebrate Christmas three times, find out why the robin has a red breast. . .  and, most important, answer once and for all:  "Was Santa Claus really Italian?"

ITALIAN STORIES FOR KIDS
Hear Italian legends (why is the sea so salty?); Italian folktales (why won't an Italian rooster ever eat walnuts?); jokes and songs (what do you put on a hairy ogre's pizza?)  Fun, lively with lots of audience participation.
